  1. The title reference is actually “Help! Help! I’m being repressed!”

If there’s a reference in the post itself, I would answer P G Wodehouse and the Russian references, except that I know that you don’t like Wodehouse.

  2. A hug for you! The sentence is ripped off from Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Ernest” Act 1, Part 2:

“The line is immaterial. Mr. Worthing, I confess I feel somewhat bewildered by what you have just told me. To be born, or at any rate bred, in a hand-bag, whether it had handles or not, seems to me to display a contempt for the ordinary decencies of family life that reminds one of the worst excesses of the French Revolution. And I presume you know what that unfortunate movement led to?”

  3. Actually I googled. My initial guess was that it was some apologia or critique (specifically communist) for some messed up revolution.

PS. Don’t hug males in America. They consider it bizarre and definitely gay.

  4. Offtopic I always wonder why none of Indian directors thought of making movie on Important of being Ernest, or even Pygmalion ?

  5. To endorse such an exclusivity clause, or at any rate, to enforce it, seems to me to display a contempt for the ordinary decencies of modern capitalism.

(Just passing by. I came across your blog while looking for the paper on hyper-active incest avoidance amongst children raised in kibbutzim: alas you didn’t cite the author. The search continues….)
