Someone in the Obama campaign had to quit because she called her neighbour’s children who had climbed up a tree “monkeys”.

Just trying to play Devil’s advocate here.
The kids were Af-Am, and the lady was Hispanic, and there was a history of discord between the lady and parents of the kids.
So?
You do know that monkey is a derogatory term for Af-Am ?
Yeah.
So, you are just being your usual libertarian flippant.
Dude, this has nothing to do with being libertarian or being flippant. Did you really think that I linked to an article without reading it? Did you really think that having linked to an article, I expected readers not to read the linked article? Of course I know that the children in question are black. But they are children. And children often behave like monkeys. It requires a certain kind of mentality to turn a remark about children behaving like monkeys into a comment on the children’s race.
I know that you were playing the devil’s advocate when you were taking that person’s side, but your advocacy left a lot to be desired. I don’t blame you, because you’ve been handed an exceptionally weak brief, but I don’t see why you expected a substantive response.
Ok this is getting silly, for the record I agree with you.
I don’t think she meant any racial smear. Having said that, I won’t use say that word to Af-Am.
