{"id":308,"date":"2005-04-19T12:24:58","date_gmt":"2005-04-19T06:54:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ravikiran.com\/2005\/04\/19\/sleeping-in-airports\/"},"modified":"2005-04-19T12:24:58","modified_gmt":"2005-04-19T06:54:58","slug":"sleeping-in-airports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ravikiran.com\/blog\/classic\/200504\/sleeping-in-airports\/","title":{"rendered":"Sleeping in airports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I had found about this site called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sleepinginairports.net\">Sleeping in Airports<\/a> long back from Madman&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.madmanweb.com\/links\/archives\/000231.html\">Linksmatic<\/a> (incidentally Madman, having to sleep in an airport has nothing to do with poverty)  Now I learn (via <a href=\"http:\/\/opinion.paifamily.com\/?p=1387\">The Acorn<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sepiamutiny.com\/sepia\/archives\/001372.html\">Sepia Mutiny<\/a> ) that they have classified <a href=\"http:\/\/sleepinginairports.com\/bestof.htm\">Changi Airport<\/a> in Singapore as the best airport to sleep in. One of the runners up is Schiphol, Amsterdam. Hey I&#8217;ve slept in both!<\/p>\n<p>The only other airport I&#8217;ve slept in is the Mumbai one &#8211; it is rated as one of the runners up in the worst airports category.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nBut the worst thing about Mumbai Airport wasn&#8217;t sleeping in it.  It wasn&#8217;t even the baggage carousel where touts hang around asking if I had brought back anything that needed to be bribed through the customs. It was a poster I saw, that had JRD Tata&#8217;s picture and a banal quote from him about the social responsibility of business. The same JRD Tata, the man whose airline was taken from him.
