Extraordinary Cartel Meeting

As you know, for the first time in its history, the Cartel is faced with the disgraceful prospect of losing at the Blog Mela. As of this writing, Chandrachoodan Gopalakrishnan is running fourth in the polling, and I don’t think he has any chance whatsoever of pulling ahead. I think that drastic measures need to be taken for us to be able to truthfully claim that the Cartel has never lost at the Mela hustings.

I therefore propose that we expel Ravages from the membership of the Cartel. What do the others think?

  1. I have serious objections about inducting someone who has just posted about how long his fingernails have grown into the Cartel. That would represent an unconscionable lowering of Cartel standards. Next thing you know, people will want to induct girls into the Cartel.

  2. Damn. Sameer stole my idea. Maybe I should post in your comments section instead of chatting with you.

And I know of at least a few women who would be great cartel members. Banish the misogynism Ravi!

  3. Well… you could of course induct him/her in the Cartel… win the Mela… then in a few days, declare that some new evidence has come to your notice about this new joinee which forces you to reconsider your decision about keeping that person in the Cartel!

Od course… the other option is to suitbaly ‘influence’ the people who haven’t voted yet, to cast their votes in favour of your candidate!

  4. This is a first, you are ready to expel me, me who ain’t yet in the cartel?

    LOL!

Listen to this rest of the world. Whatever happened to the cartel’s famed logic?

They are ready to expel me without even giving me a membership overview, let alone a mebership. 🙂

ROTFLMAO (and that’s a big mao)

  5. What’s wrong with the logic? It should be obvious even to a non-Cartelian, but I will spell out the steps for you:
    1) The Cartel is always right.
    2) I am the Cartel.
    3) Hence what I say is always right.
    4) So if I say that a person who hasn’t joined can be expelled, it must be possible.

I challenge you to find a flaw in the above syllogism.

  6. Ahem. My fingernails do have a tendency to grow I’m afraid, and I’m inclined towards penning it down to the grimiest detail.

Let the cartel realize that losing, sometimes .. is a part of life .. and it may not be that bad. Will give you some time for some sinhavalokan heh?
    (introspection).

  7. Next thing you know, people will want to induct girls into the Cartel.

You are sounding more and more like Calvin these days, Ravi – go stand in the corner for an hour :p

  8. I’m sorry, Sameer doesn’t even understand the freedoms enshrined in the constitution. He cannot be a member. 🙂

Ravages, explain what a “syllogism” is. Then poke holes in Ravi’s. 🙂

I’m all for inducting females into the Cartel. Perhaps Shanti Aunty knows someone?

  9. Madman, in any case, I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member! 😉

And… kindly explain that freedom. 🙂

  10. A cartel among bloggers?! Interesting! What do you control? The number of words that can be published in each blog? 🙂 Or is there a quota limit with regards to the quality 🙂
