Just as I was typing the “edit” part of the previous post, I realised that “oversight” has two senses ( 1. Supervise 2. Overlook) which often end up meaning two opposite things.
Question: Name the word, which when used in the software sense, means the exact opposite of what it did originally.
I am not too sure about the answer, but how about the word ‘Scroll’? In the software sense, it means to shift the data on the screen so that new data can be visible. So in a sense, by scrolling we are opening a document.
But in the original sense, when one scrolls a document, one folds it up.

Compressor/Copression utility.
In normal life, A compressor is put on an AC/refrigerator. I dont think it compresses anything.
While a zip utility reduces file size.

You people are on the wrong track. Hint: The answer, once given, won’t require any reasoning at all to justify it. It will be a “why didn’t I think og that!” kind of answer.

Yes indeed, the answer is “Transparent”. When a software guy says that the implementation is “transparent” to the user, he means that it is hidden from the user.
Actually transparent does mean hidden 🙂
