Mallus have relly long single-word names. That’s why.
No they dont. They have long ancestoral names. or the names of the town from which they come.

But, I made quick check to find out the length of the names people from different states in my lab. Unfortunately, me a mallu was no match for the gult names.

Why mallus ? All South Indians love to have long names. Not for us the short, sweet ones like Ravi Shah, Deepak Mehta. Amit Varma. Names must contain at least a dozen syllables, if you want to be counted and want to make it big.. You know why Murali Karthick is not as succesful as Prasanna was. Because the latter’s full name was Erapalli Anandrao Srivatsa Prasanna. A name like that was enough to give the batsman the creeps ,even as he began the runup. Murali better change his name to Muralidharan Karthikeyan or something like that.
If P.T.Usha had retained her full name of Pilavulakandi thekaparambil Usha, she would have won the gold medal by a wide margin, instead of missing the bronze by a whisker.
Hell, I know of a Srinivasan Ramamurthy who is the son of Ramamurthy Srinivasan. The ancestry went back in a similar vein, ad nauseum.

In Tamil nadu nobody can put their surname in the schools, becouse of dravidian Govt. say that it will pave the way casteism in the scholls.
My Name is GOBU and my surname is Thondaiman(the only Kings family living in TN). i should be called as GOBU J THONDAIMAN. But in school they did not accept my surname, i have to use my father name as initial followed by my name. When i went bombay to get visa for me to gulf, they asked me what is “J”, they thought that is my name and made my name as a surname and they again put my father name as a family name. So in my Visa it is ” Jothiramaligam gobu Jothiramaligam”. offcourse in schools and colleges you can not find out “who is belongs what?”, but tamilnadu witnessing every day caste killing. I Dont know what is use removing surname? if u could not eredicate caste discriminination.
So we have surnames, but the govt.is not willing accept it.
In north india it is SACHIN R TENDULKAR, Saurav Ganguly, Laoo Prasad Yadav.
In South india it is only K. Srikanth, D. Karthik, M. Karthik. N. Karthikayan, V. Ananathan, M. Karunanithi, J. Jayalalitha, P. Chidambaram.
