  1. OT — our blog, “Gates of Vienna”, is just beginning an investigation of the Indian side of the Great Jihad. I was inspired by commenter krishna_kirti to do a post about the mosque on the site of the temple at Krishna’s birthplace — “the Gates of Delhi”.

I am very interested in the Hindu front in the GWOT, but am overwhelmed by the amount and scope of information available. I invite everyone interested to come over and comment (or email) with tips and resources on Indian topics for future posts.

BTW, I very much enjoyed the post on the British Raj.

  2. Hi Ravi,
An interesting article. But, I do have my reservations about the second reform he talks about. In a country with regional political parties that are stronger than the national ones, it would certainly not be possible to implement. As for the top two candidates fighting it out, it is an absurd rule. Imagine an election being decided with a 10% voter turnout – the others not being able to vote for their own candidate. Or they are forced to choose the lesser of two evils (as opposed to many evils!!)
The first reform though, has to be implemented. It is indeed shocking that the political parties are in no way “accountable”.

  3. Ravi,
Just a suggestion…please copy-paste and block a relevant paragraph when you post a link to an article like this. It would definitely provoke more interest in checking out the link. Most people may not have the patience to click on a link without knowing what to expect from it. Yazad, I know, does it.
