Proof that God does not exist

Long back I realised that it is impossible to prove that God does not exist unless you make the assumption that He is a benevolent God. But today I have to ask all theists amoung you: If you think there is a benevolent God, why did He choose to inflict K S Sudarshan on us?

  1. Of course, He is benevolent. Where would we get all our jokes from? 🙂

As an aside, a lot of evangelical christian organizations use IT, just like any other company in USA, to organize themselves and to target their audience effectively. So, naturally, at the click of a button, they can know the latest number of ‘customers’ they have served. That someone may be Bush (sitting next to the Pope) if only he knew how to push that button.

  2. Long back I realised that it is impossible to prove that God does not exist unless you make the assumption that He is a benevolent God

This line deserves a post in itself to qualify it. Or necessitates it.

  3. Long back I realised that it is impossible to prove that God does not exist unless you make the assumption that He is a benevolent God.

Beware the double (triple?) negative, my friend.

Where is Sudhakar Nair/Clark Kent/Blogger in Mallu Disguise when you need him?

  4. What double negative? “It is impossible” is an assertive statement, not a negative one. The “unless” is in a separate clause so it does not count.

More importantly and less pedantically, the purpose of the “avoid double negatives” rule is to improve readability. “It is not possible to prove that God does not exist” is confusing to read. “It is impossible to refute God’s existence” is not.

  5. I dont think ‘god’ exsists at all. I think its ironic that one silly book of contradictions has convinced so many people to believe in somthing that is basiclly one huge deception and its hilarious the lengths some of those people will go to, to persuede and push others into a religion based on a such moronic ideas.

  6. Who knows. He cannot be proven, but does that make him real. Ask yourself this why do you believe in him. You were probably born into the religion. You think “Well my parents believe in it and all these other people believe in it.” It is a cycle and during this cycle more and more people are brought in. These people think the same exact thing as you. ??Why dont other creatures get to go to heaven??. People believe in God because it makes them sleep at night. They cannot fathem that they will die one day and it will all be over. The other half of people follow the faith in fear of God; Enternal Damnation. They think “Well what if he is real I will be punished.” FEAR

  7. I beleive “god” does not exsist.Anyone to beleive in “god” is ,in my perspective ,angry, volatile, primitive, arrogant, mentally unbalanced and does not display critical thinking. You are most likely these things if you…
“If you believe that this invisible giant man got a 13-year-old virgin girl pregnant, who then gave birth to him as his own son and still she remains a virgin”..?…seriously here people.
“If you believe that some “good” god person is going to reward you for killing living, breathing human beings “in his name” (take the crusades for example)
“If you believe that believing in one God makes you better than and superior to those who don’t”(come on..)
The human culture has been following this “god” for centuries. If “god” will forgive us all no matter what our sins why does he send us to “hell”?.Get serious here people come back to reality.I would like if you not argue with this statement but to think about it before you do.Do not try and convince me “god” is real by saying when people die they see “the light” this has been proven that it is a disfunction in the brain when you are bewteen dieing and living which brings you flashbacks of your memories..so no you didnt see grandma on the stairway to “heaven”.I am 13 years old and there it is if i made and gramatical errors im sorry because im not that good with typing.

  8. God dose not exsist, its too simple.
Bible – mix of stories written in the age where ppl hunted for their food that were then changed by mistake and copied by crooked individuals to create a pathetic religion that comes to explain the difficulties in life and provide a guide to a “rightdfull” way to live ur life based upon stupid value systems.

I dont understand why ppl cant wake up and realize that there is no god and stop enslaving themselves to something that does not exsist and has no power over them… You are throwing ur life away ppl, there is no heaven or hell!
I guess there are too many stupid ppl in this world. No i dont mean intelligent, im sure u can understand the bible and provide some sort of translation to it but u never ask urselves why u believe in it… maybe u just assume that there are enough ppl in this world that think that there is no god… or maybe too many ppl that think there is one.

I dont care to change ppl for the heck of it, but religion should not be a lifestyle, get Concious ppl! Life is too short for god and other children’s stories.

  9. like…….seriously…how could mary be a virgin but yet she is preganant!! If there was a god, y couldnt we pray for a kid instead?? This would avoid kids being in adoption homes or women having abortion….many lives would be spared.

  10. Tell me something that does not exist then I will tell you how I know that I know that I know nothing???

  11. It comes down to this simple theory. The world is in one dimension – known as time.

If god created the universe then he cannot exist within our dimension!

It is claimed by Christians that he lives in multiple dimensions… Sorry to burst your buble guys but that would therefor mean God is not a free spirit and cannot act within our dimension. So praying is therefor useless in the case that he may exist – which he doesn’t!

There over 30,000 definisions to God’s existance within the christian faith – well there is something wrong there I’m sure. Let alone argue with people who don’t believe in God – you can’t even agree with each other! Wake up and smell the roses.

I’m only 18 and make more sence than the majority of you out there. Ohh but wait because you ‘believe’ in God – that must make you more superior than me…

  12. The “Undeniable” proof that God Exist from DoseGodexist.com sounds like a ton of big words mixed into each paragraph with out one single answer to the question previously asked at the beginning of each paragraph. The dim-witted person who wrote that clearly has NO idea what there talking about.

  13. Do you know the common denominator of all of these postings? They are all really angry and defensive. Does someone that really believe in something exert their beliefs on others in a “down your mouth” mentality. One that undoubtably believes in something doesnt have to defend their perception of specific things. The most insecure people that I know are ones that forcefully feed people with what they think is right or what they think to be true. That goes for the religion and spiritual as well as atheist. Lets look at the facts: People that believe in God have something called “faith” something atheists can not argue with but the samething goes for people who dont believe in a God for they rely on Scientific facts, which people of “faith” cannot provide without doubt reason that God does exist. Im not making a case for eaither stand because you have to follow what you personally believe in. Having Faith is not for the weak hearted and sometimes you have to search for what you believe in. Contact me @ northiredell@hotmail.com

  14. I was raised to be a christian and basically it just ruined my thought process and caused me to live in a pathetic state of fear and even now i know this the fear still remains.god is a concept used to give the strong power over the weak minded and they laugh at the iorny

  15. The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” Such are corrupt; they do abominable deeds; there is not one who does good. The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there be one who is wise and seeks God. All alike have gone astray…. [Psalm 14:1-3]

  16. Personally I just want to say: What difference will it make to the people that don’t believe in God or a supernatural force to prove their point that “Their is no God?”?

If to these people death is the end of existence, so why bother to prove your point?

Basically life that ends on death is dead! Your spouse you are with is dead, your children are dead and you are dead!

If that is the reality it would be better not to be aware of it!

Even if you make the whole world believe that “God does not exist” what difference will it make for you? Even if it is true what difference will that make?

What favour are you doing for yourself and the world?

Basically I can’t see a more sad and depressing reality as that of an atheist.

When you look at the universe as a whole nothing is lost nor gained. We die but still exist, but not in the same form. Even science can’t deny our existence after death, cause according to science we are made from atoms and chemical substances. Do these stop to exist after we die? Ofcourse not, they are like a vessel that is arranged in a specific way to make our bodies that carry our existence! We so concetrated on ourselves, obssesed by the fear of death that we failed to see death was not an option, however we could not understand how was it possible to still exist. Now we are atoms assembled into a body, later we will be atoms scaterred around the earth! Whose hand will put them back agian? Oh man when will you learn?

Seek God and you will find Him!

  17. why God?and why not God?
God would be the only thing that makes sense my defination is The Creator somthing that doesn’t have to be created it is a holy being our knowledge is so small compared to him that its hard to grasp the entire pictureof what he is becuase we are always bounded by so many limits but God only has one limit(he can not do anything out of his nature which is sin) if you see the complexty of the world around us how everything makes sense and how we were made so specifacly and so complex it must have to have an creator superior of ourselves..for even if there is a big bang there has to be a BIG BANGER(God). If you beleive there is no God then our purpose on life is meaningless. Ok to comment back on Stuart theory It comes down to this simple theory. The world is in one dimension – known as time.If God created the universe then he cannot exist within our dimension! well us humans were created with “limits” or boundary that we are used to becuase this way of life is all we know. we dont have full knowledge to understand the full power of God he is not bounded by “time” becuase he was always there in the beginning.

i have to go now but leave me a comment at http://www.xanga.com/patman739
feel free to tell me what you think and ill comment you back =]

  18. Im back ok soo ill just continue where i left off

to discuss the topic that Dustin December 26th, 2005 at 1:26 am said first things first virign Mary was not 13-years old second thing if you read the bible and its context. Next if you do read the bible God doesnt want people to kill for his name no were in the bible does it say that. And i dotn think that me belieiving in God makes me better than you..if i thought that then i wouldnt be wasting my time doing this..im doing this becuase i want you to knoe what i beleive and all my facts and veiws supporting it. and to your one reason {The human culture has been following this “god” for centuries. If “god” will forgive us all no matter what our sins why does he send us to “hell”?} God DOES NOT send us to hell we do. Yes God will foregive us of our sins but that only if you truley believe and repent. If you dont beleive in God and you ask for forgivness that would be stupid(no offense) As i said God is “good” and becuase he is good he cannot be with sin..which we all have becuase all of us our guilty of it.. But we have the CHOICE GOd gave us free will to chose if we want to follow Him or Not. i respect your veiws for being 13(i am 14) but i just want you to understand that people do stupid stuff and say that they are “doing it for God” but there not they do not knoe anything about the Bible and yeah..
see some people belive that there is no truth…but is that even true? Some peopel say it doesnt matter if there is a God or not…well it does matter

for more info on what i believe check out my website posted in my last comment and this website http://filipinolife.org/doctrine.htm

  19. God cannot create an indestructible wall, then god can not be almighty.

If it is reasonable to believe in god, then it is also reasonable to believe that god does not exist.

  20. People who do not believe tend to live by their own set of principles.

In many cases it can end up limiting the souls purpose.

When people believe in God and use that faith for good, amazing things can be accomplished.

Extremist leaders realise the power of faith and use it for evil ends.

Sadly these actions are used as examples for people not to believe in anything.
Wouldn’t it be better for people to fight like with like.
Believe in God believe in the good and do things for the greater good so that everyone feels moved by the amazing wonders that will be achieved.

  21. reply to Champ
“If it is reasonable to believe in god, then it is also reasonable to believe that god does not exist. ”

Is it reasonable to beleive that our eniter exsistence is all an accident and that the people lives have no purpose. Well reason its self gives us proof of God. The human mind can tell when it is doing somthing right from somthing wrong or when somthing proves locigal or not logical our feelings and emotions the way the world works so perfectly how can you reason that God couldnt make this world and that he doesnt exist?

  22. Okay, first of all….it’s “believe”, not “beleive”…come on ppl.
I would just like to point out that the world is not perfect, and the universe was not designed for life…so quit saying that the world is too perfect for “chance.” I have a question to ask Christians: how do you KNOW that this isn’t the one-out-of-one-billion? I’m sure that people who develop necrotizing fasciitis (flesh eating disease) never though it would happen to them…yet they ended up experiencing the small percentage of cases. God is an ideal, a way to banish the fear of annihilation. The only problem is that it creates a new fear—the fear of God. Why fear such a “loving” deity? Oh, and I’d like to re-quote Champ, in a way I saw on another site: Atheist- “Is god all-powerful?”….Christian- “Yes.”…Atheist “Can God create a wall that even he cannot destroy?” This is logical proof against the existence of God. He cannot be all-powerful. To tell yourself that God exists is to deny yourself the truth.
    Signed but not really, Alyssa.
    P.S.

  23. ….oops i forgot the PS…hahaha.
    here goes
P.S. Quit acting like you’re great people just painfully overflowing with morality. You have morals that you live by because if you don’t = one way ticket to Hell. I’m an atheist and I have morals because I chose to be a good person, not because my invisible friend in the sky said i have to. I don’t cheat, steal, or kill. (I wouldn’t covet with my neighbour’s wife 1) because I’m not a lesbian, and 2) I’m only 17.) Here’s a moral for all, or most, of you Christians out there: try being a little more tolerant of homosexuals and people who do not share your beliefs. One parting statement….It’s proven that the smarter you are, the more like it is that you will be non-religious. Thank-you and enjoy the rest of your stay in this beautiful universe that was not created by God.

  24. Food for thought, Go back to the being.
jesus walk the earth proclaiming to be the son of god, he had no other choice because if proclaimed to be god then he woulded have got very far. He had gathered many followers of which some became desiples, they in turn wrote storys of their travels and eventually the romans hunted all chrsitians to try and rid this uprising (this has reocurred for many centuries) and so judas gave jesus up to the romans, this put a serious hurdle in the path for christianity and it be came a sort of underground movement, and it lost momentum and actually started to fade out, the driving force had be taken out of the picture (jesus), but in 220AD that change when a priest decided to write a book which we know to day as the bible.

unfortunatley this priest did not include all the storys by (gospels) the different people that had been around jesus because of the negative impact it would have on this new faith, he had at his disposel about 80 gospels of which he only use four. why, because the others would have had a negative impact, as an example judas was the closest desiple to jesus and in the gospel of judas jesus ask him to betray him to the romans, then at the last supper jesus stood up and and proclaimed that some at that supper would betray him, so what he actually did was spin eveybody to a proficy which actually wasn’t one.

in short jesus was a mortal man just like everyone else and if he had been living today would have been locked up in a mental institute.

the whole theory of god is man made just like the bible and everything that has followed, but one must not always look at the negative and we as no believers in god must not forget the after law and order christianity also governs society and without it things might have been alot worse, and yes i do not believe god exists.

  25. Well, I just want to say that I do not believe in god, and see that believing in god is something that is an insult to inteligence. Did we realy evolve into such intelectual species, where we have machinery that does work for us, where we can sit down on our beds and watch what is happening on the other side of the world over a television… all this and much more to be believing in a story that there is one being out there that created us and we have to follow him? Please people, wake up and see the trueth. If you ever look into history, you will see that it was chance that got you people into even believeing in this “one god”. Look at Emeperor Constatine I, who lived only a few centuries after “Jesus” was born. He was the main reason you people are christians in the first place. He also established most of the things you hold dearly today (he established the day of the sabath, etc.).

Also I want to point out that there cannot be a god. Think about this: You christians think that God is realy omnipotent and omnicient… but if this was the case, and we DO have a choice, logic contradicts these two statements, since if WE HAVE A CHOICE, then out future is undetermined, and we do not have a distiny… But if God is omnicient, (meaning knows everything) then he knows what will happen to us in the future, meaning that we DO NOT HAVE A CHOICE… how can we have a choice if he knows what choices we will make?

Anyway, final point is, dont insult your own inteligence in believe such nonsense that churches and political readers put into your heads just to have a better control of you.

  26. P.S. Don’t insult my spelling since English is my second language… Thank you.

  27. Battle lines are forming on the web for a confrontation so contentious, any clash of civilizations will have to wait its turn. On one side, a single manuscript by an unknown author titled: The Final Freedoms, against all the gravitas religious tradition can bring to bear.

This, the first wholly new interpretation for 2000 years of the moral teachings of Jesus the Christ focuses specifically and comprehensively on marriage and human sexuality, challenging all natural law theory and theology. At stake is the credibility of several thousand years of religious history.

What at first appears an utterly preposterous challenge to the religious status quo rewards those who persevere in closer examination, for it carries within its pages an idea both subtle and sublime, what the combined intellectual histories of religion and science have either ignored or dismissed as impossible. An error of presumption which could now leave tradition staring into the abyss and humble the heights of scientific speculation. For if this material is confirmed, and there appears to be both the means and a concerted effort to authenticate it, the greatest unresolved questions of human existence may finally have been untangled.

Published only on the web and distributed freely as a pdf download, made up of twenty nine chapters and three hundred and seventy pages, this new teaching has nothing whatsoever to do with any existing religious conception known to history. It is unique in every respect.

Using a synthesis of scriptural elements from the Old and New Testaments, the Apocrypha , The Dead Sea Scrolls,The Nag Hammadi Library, and some of the worlds greatest poetry, it describes and teaches a single moral LAW, a single moral principle and offers its own proof; one in which the reality of God responds to an act of perfect faith with a direct, individual intervention into the natural world; making a correction to human nature by a change in natural law, altering biology, consciousness, human ethical perception, and providing new, primary insight and understanding of the human condition.

Also called the Gospel of the Resurrection, this new interpretation reveals the moral foundation of all human thought and conduct and finds expression within a new covenant of human spiritual union, the marriage [Hieros gamos] between one man and one woman. It resolves the most intractable questions and issues of human sexuality and offers possibilities for peace, health, healing and cultural development political process has yet to dream of.

This new teaching is pure ethics. It requires no institutional framework, no churches, no priest craft, no scholastic theological rational, costs nothing and ‘worship’ requires only conviction, faith and the necessary measure of self discipline to accomplish a new moral imperative.

As the first ever religious teaching able to demonstrate its own efficacy, the first ever religious claim to knowledge that meets both the ideal and criteria of the most rigourous, testable scientific method, this teaching enters the public domain as a reality entirely new to human history.

The beginnings of an intellectual and moral revolution are unfolding on the web. And anyone trying to imagine where solutions to the worlds most difficult conundrums will come from, may comprehend from this material, the catalyst that might very well define the very future of humanity and the earth itself!

  28. Could it be just another clever way to try and influence the gullible or assist those unwilling to experience critical thinking of their own and then form opinions of their own? There are thousands of Prehistoric bones of both early man and beasts (dinosaurs) within countless museums and universities. There are uncountable volumes of scientific research of things far older than any unproven biblical reference. I believe the burden of proof has now fallen on the believers. The Scientists have presented their evidence and earned the respect of us critical thinkers. Show me something other than words and faith that can be verified under scientific scrutiny. Then and only then will those of us who are capable of critical thought hear your rhetoric. We are unwilling to be led by uncertainty or the teachings of our fathers. We will consider your evidence tangible when it can be proven by science. Until then I leave you with these points to ponder. Does Christianity allow one to adopt a superior moral position? Without this position would Christians have standing in terms of ethical hierarchy? Are Christians judging others by a standard unused on themselves? Are Christians not sworn to correct their own hypocrisies before reforming the world? Mustn’t Christians vow to hate sin and love the sinner? From where is a Christians societal righteous judgment derived? Is it from the very book that speaks of judgment, hypocrisy, sin and love? I hope thier God helps Christians… Ten Commandments to none their in trouble… Sorry Christians, only we Pagans can ethically gamble…

  29. alright first things first…i dont believe in go to religion or anything because really dont get it…its so contradicting confusing and just doesnt make sence to me…i mean until someone comes up with something real that proves that god exsists i will remain atheist….i am a guy built on nothing but logistics…to make me believe in something you will need something real…evidence..something tangible….you know..just to be an asshole i will be the first to come up with an equation that prooves that god does not exsist…just to be an asshole…

  30. GOD DOESNOT HAVE ANY EXSISTENCE AT ALL BECAUSE WE CAN NOT SEE HIM OR EVEN HAVE AT LEAST A PROOF .

  31. First of all god does exist, all you have to have is faith. I know what most of you are going through, i was a non- believer once too! But the truth is God exist whether you like it or not. You can sit around and act like your hott stuff just because you dont have faith. But when you get up there to be judged by god and your sent to hell ill be a heaven’s gate with my best friend who was killed in a car accident with me, and ill tell you once again Faith is the key to heaven’s door. Think what you want it’s not us believer’s that live in FEAR it’s the non- believers who think they know!
When something outrageous happens in your life and you feel the presence then tell me it doesn’t exist!

  32. society needed a god. its human nature to feel more secure if you think something more powerful than yourself is watching over you. also , without a god , which is accompanied by consequences of sin (in the christian religion that consequence is eternal torment in hell) there would be a much more drastic level of anarchy and social instability. persoanlly , i do not believe in the any god.

but specifically focusing on why i do not believe in the christain god , there are several key elements that no one seems to recognize :

*if god was real , and he created everything , he then also created satan. the bible states that it is impossible for sin to exist in heaven. now , why is it that satan was cast from heaven? jealousy. jealousy is a virtue of sin. so apparently sin CAN exist in heaven. theres a contradiction of the bible that a gentleman in the beginning of this thread asked for.

*if god is the sole creator of the heavens and the earth , then he MUST possess just as many evil qualities as he does holy. it is impossible to have lightness without darkness. the simple fact that god was even able to comprehend a place like hell , where the bible descibes it as “lakes of fire, pitch black , fire and brimstone, and the inhabitants will be gnashing(literally shattering) their teeth on rocks…….well , that doesnt sound like a very pleasant god to me.

*maybe , just MAYBE , since god is all knowing , he created satan all the while KNOWING that he would eventually cast him from heaven , create a kingdom for satan to dwell in (hell) and simply have a scapegoat. did you ever notice how when things are going good in a christians life then god is great. what happens when the christian falls on hard tomes though? they blame satan. BUT LETS NOT forget , god created EVERYTHING , so therefore EVERYTHING ultimately SHOULD cycle back to god . think of it as clock face. god represents the number 12 , the center of it all. lets say satan represents the number 6. when things are good we allow the thanks and praise to make a full rotation from 12(god) all the way back to god(12 again). but when things just dont go our way , we allow only a half rotation (6=satan). we seem to forget that it was god who created satan in the first place.

    im tired of typing.

  33. Christians say Jesus performed his miracles to prove that he was the son of God, also God himself, being one in the trinity(a whole other clusterfuck of Christian mouth shit that can’t be explained so is labeled with the “our human minds just can’t fathom the explaination, we just have to believe”…but that is a whole other issue)…anyway if Jesus performed his miracles to prove he was God…then why didn’t he perform any miracles that could be scientifically proven at a later date…were the only people he wanted to prove it to the people that existed in his time? Why not us? Christians may then answer this question with…”Yar Har…Look at me!..I think I know what I am talking about because I believe in a book written by cavemen who ate their own feces!”…but most likely “God didn’t peform any miracles that could be proven because he wanted us to come to him through faith and not physical proof!!!! hehe lol!!!! i got ya!!! lol!!!”…Well then my intelligent lad, why did Jesus perform his miracles in the first place?..Simply to condradict the living shit out of himself?….”Yar Har…good point”

  34. Religion without irrationality is impossible. Faith is by definition not rational, it is belief in the absence of verification (even says so in the dictionary). If the public were to promote the free question of ideas, religious belief would wither under the inspection of scientific rationality.
Faith, like superstition, prevents moral action. Those who do not understand how the world works; who, in place of an understanding of the interaction between self and their surroundings, see only the saved and the damned, demons and angels, miracles and curses, and will be incapable of informed choice. They will be unable to take responsibility for their actions because they lack intellectual and emotional maturity.

  35. To believe in God, is there by your choice.
To believe in God, is neither right or wrong.
But if thy shall not believe in God
    Thus, what do you believe?
In science or theory, in which there is evidence
But there, you do not get the point
which made when said ‘to believe in God’
To believe is not to see
It is to trust and have faith
    And not doubt.
Thus to believe in God is not to have evidence
But to believe love, happiness, and life
Comes from the one and only God.
If thy shall not believe in God,
Thy shall not believe in life.
Do and believe what you may wish
Seek and search for what you desire
But it is God whom you seek.
He is everything, and thus without him
Life, to you, has no meaning.
There by, seek what you wish..
soon i hope, you find yourself
And God right there, beside you.

  36. Temporal beings are complete in a way god can never be. Time never ends as it begins. The differing is that the act of its beginning offers opportunity for its end to be the completion of the differing it is. No god can complete the differing time is. The result is faith in a god that perpetuates an absurd effort to keep time from being what it is: change. That change is only coherent to the right, capacity, and privilege of each and every temporal being to be that differing. No god can save us from the absurdity of envisioning time enduring. Time is not enduring and we are not enduring it. This means human feeling is more coherent to the completion of time than divine reason. It also means faith is the most godless hubris we can aspire to. Take that, deists!

  37. This entire existence did not just happen. Look at the imensity and complexity of this universe, down to the complexity of the nucleus of a cell, protons, electons and DNA. The anolagy I have for evolution is this: There is a huge junk yard of a million different mechanical parts. There are pistons, broken propeller blades scattered about, wings that are shattered, seats scattered about. Now if you believe that a tornado can sweep across this junk yard and randomly assemble a Boeng 747 ready to take off and fly, then the theory of evolution makes sense. There are a total of ten dimensions, nine spatial and the tenth, being time. All existed as one, which has always been God’s abode. Satan, who was once an angle rebelled, was kicked out of God’s domain, which split the dimensions and was the onset of the big bang that created this universe, into which Satan was cast. God created this universe with perfection, which explains its infinity, as man was not destined to die. We chose to follow Satan, which explains the constant decay and inperfection of things (entropy and thermodynamics), which is why I believe that we are the only inhabitants of this universe. If we were destined to die, what would be God’s purpose in creating life elsewhere. The theory of everything is based on balance, which is why I believe not only religious wise but scientifacally in a Heaven and Hell. The basic law of this universe is, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. The other six spatial dimensions, each of the three, having opposite sets of physics, set the theory of everything in balance. God, being who and what he is, has one standard, which is perfection. Due to sin entering this world (our three dimensional universe), None of us can meet that standard on our own, which is why God made the ultimate sacrifice to come into this world in human form, suffer, die on the cross, risefrom the dead in order for us to meet God’s standards. It is all so simple. Just accept what God has done for us and we can enter his perfect kingdom, if not, then enter the other three spatial dimensions, where all physics defy any positives and face thye eternal consequences.

  38. David,
What you describe is called the naturalist fallacy. Is this god of yours limited to natural law? Or is there a distinction between rational law and divine freedom? If not, are we but monads torn between two implacable regimes of law, without any whatever means of breaching the divide between us? The result is that time is war. Are you declaring war on love?

  39. Gary,
The God I described is not limited whatsoever, If you believe in God at all, you cannot limit him to any kind of naturalistic law. Mankind himself has put God in what we define as nature. The physics and limitations within OUR universe is what we perceive as nature. The process of aging and decay is nature. This is not declaring war on love, for God’s love is far superior than any human love relationship that we can imagine. The fact that he was a fetus inside of a virgin, was born a human, was despised rejected and crucified for us (as was his will), is love beyond any reach of human imagination. When you try and imagine the vastness of this universe, which he created and how insignifiicant we are compared to its infinity and what he sacrificed for us as what we think of insignificant human beings, compared with the cosmos IS DEFINITELY NOT WAR ON LOVE. Time is not war, but a dimension of this universe, from the big bang and its expansion.

  40. David,
Now you are appealing to dualism. The problem is that transcendence, notions like infinity and perfection, are actually imminent to this imperfect temporal way of being. Are transcendental ideas in some sense real? Of course, reality, too, is imminent to time’s imperfection. The question is, what is time? For instance, what is time that you feel there is an outside to which you feel more at home? Is time duration, or simply differing? Is there such a thing as a ‘period of time’? And, if so, what unifies it? Surely no god! Is your deism Christian? Regis Debray has written a wonderful little book, “God, an itinerary”, examining the idea of god as a historical, literary tradition, and demonstrates that, whatever the nature of the feeling we seem to have of a transcendent presence, there can be found no justification nor expression of that feeling in tradition or literature. If this feeling is one each one of us has, there is no generalization possible to it. It may be we each and every one feels it, but there is no sense in which we all do. Debray does this from the judeo/christian, even Roman Catholic, point of view, but the study essentially applies , I think, to any deism at all.

  41. Gary,
I don’t necessarily feel that I am appealing to dualism. Our points of view may be interpreted in many different ways. God himself is outside of time and space. He created it, therefore He is not bound to it. The concept of God is interpreted in many different ways through religions and cultures. I am only expressing what I feel and believe. If science can prove beyond a doubt that God does not exist, then to me, going to church, celebrating Christmas, Easter or any religious holiday is a moot point. I am learning that science is proving more the validity of scripture.

  42. So, the burden of proof is on those who don’t believe you? As Groucho Marx said: “Who are you gonna believe, me, or your own eyes?!” I believe your faith an evasion of reason. Prove it aint!
