I took advantage of my wifeless existence in the US to run through three books:The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins, The Undercover Economist
by Tim Harford and Fooled by Randomness
by Nassim Nicholas Taleb. Got a like rate of 2 out of 3. Reviews follow soon.

By “soon” I assume you mean one or two decades 🙂
Like to see the review of The Undercover Economist first if you don’t mind. I hope you noticed that Hillary Clinton’s $5000 for every baby born in the U.S. was mentioned first in this book.
Nassim Taleb’s latest one is Black Swan – a fairly unique book where he trashes most conventional wisdom, but a bit dense one. He says Randomness was a precursor to Black Swan. I’m a slow reader and probably take months to read the second half.
I didn’t get the insurance and health-care part but his comparison with the track race to me seemed underwhelming. I don’t know how torturing reality goes, but torturing analogies usually results in bad policies.
I had to throw away Fooled By Randomness after somehow reaching the middle of the book. Yes Mr Taleb, we get your point but you don’t have to repeat it a thousand times. Also, next time try using the services of a professional editor.
PS: Black Swan is a better read.
