Do we get an answer? Yes, I’m both lazy and curious.
All anglicized yes (dont know about Matunga)… but then…
The ‘i’ sound isn’t pronounced?
C, where is the unpronounced ‘i’ in Matunga? Have heard of silent letters, not invisible ones…
One theory:
There is a pronounced h that is not written where it should be written
sanskrit – actually sanskrith in Marathi or other languages
brahmin – bramhan (the h in the english spelling is not where the h should be)
sion – is it pronounced shion ..dont know..marathi name is shiv as per wiki
matunga – pronounced mathunga
do we get the answer or at least what you were thinking?
